The project proposes the rooms to have more than one role, bearing in mind the fluctuating number of guests who spend the night with the family. With the new glass structure that joins the house and the garage, the present laundry room moves to where the main entrance is now. A study/library takes its place which can be turned into a guest room when needed. Similiarly upstairs, the wall between the master bedroom and the child’s bedroom will be taken down so as to enlarge the needed storage and to make a walking-in closet with a sofa-bed. When needed this would be possible to close and turn into a guest room.
GESTKVÆMT HEIMILI
Tillagan leggur til að herbergi hafi fleiri en eitt hlutverk, með tilliti til mismunandi fjölda næturgesta. Með nýja glerskálanum sem tengir íbúðarhúsið og bílskúrinn, færist þvottaherbergið þangað sem aðalinngangurinn er nú. Það herbergi verður nú að bókaherbergi sem getur orðið að gestaherbergi þegar hentar. Sama viðhorf gegnir á efri hæðinni. Veggurinn sem skilur á milli hjóna- og barnaherbergis að sunnan er tekinn niður til þess að búa til klæðaherbergi samtengt hjónaherberginu. Því verður hægt að loka og breyta í gestaherbergi.
